Action in the Kool-Aid Junior Skill Level Squash tournament continued on Saturday morning at the Georgetown Club courts, featuring Ashley Khalil’s and Steven Xavier’s battle.
Ashley Khalil
The match started off firing, with never-ending rallies and powerful shots. However, Khalil overpowered Xavier, taking the first game confidently. But Xavier came on court for the next game prepared for a showdown. His incredible retrieving skills were put to the test as Khalil sent him diving to all corners of the court.
But this young lad’s retrieving soon became attacking, as he went on to take the next two games. It seemed as though Khalil came on with a fresher and more aggressive attitude in the fourth game. As the under-19 Caribbean Champion proved her skills by allowing Xavier to only get three points each as she closed off the next two games. Resulting in a 11/7, 7/11, 8/11, 11/3, 11/3 win to Khalil.
