Christopher London, 38, a security guard attached to a prominent construction firm is expected to be placed before the court for being in possession of an illegal .25 pistol.
His arrest stems from threats he reportedly made to his reputed wife Letticia McPherson.
This newspaper understands that around 19:45 hrs on Tuesday, the police received a report from McPherson that London had threatened her.
The police responded and went to the Lot 72 Farm, Squatting Area, East Bank Demerara home of the couple.
Upon arrival there London was seen pulling open a door of a wooden cottage and when challenged by one of the ranks, he dropped an object, which he had in his hand.
The object was picked up by the said rank and it was observed to be a .25 pistol.
London was subsequently searched and a black handle stainless steel knife was found in his pants waist.
He was escorted to the Providence Police Station where the firearm and knife were lodged, while he was placed into custody.
Ballistic tests are also being conducted on the weapon.
