Dear editor,
Your article on February 21, 2011 that dealt with the number of cases handled by the Child Care and Protection Agency for 2010 and attributed to information from a recent interview with the Director is in fact from an interview done in January which resulted in an earlier article penned.
In that interview and article the number of cases given for the year was three thousand and eighty-seven cases. However February 21 article put the cases as one thousand and eight-seven. This mistake by your Newspaper needs to be acknowledged lest the reading public be confused and the credibility of the interviewee for accuracy also be questioned.
I must also remind that when human interest stories are written the writer must be very careful with style and language.
