Man dies in accident after leaving party

Police are trying to identity a man who perished in an accident at around 21:15 hrs after leaving a party at Ruimzeight, West Coast Demerara.
The victim, who is of East Indian ancestry, and estimated to be about 46, succumbed at the West Demerara Regional Hospital after being run over by a car.
According to reports, the man had just stepped out onto the West Bank Demerara public road after leaving a party in the Ruimzeight area, when he stumbled and fell.
A driver who was heading east on the roadway failed to spot the man and ran over him.
The victim succumbed shortly after while the driver was detained.
