Brazilian murder accused appears in Bartica court

Murder accused, Brazilian Frank Rebeiro appeared in the Bartica Magistrate’s Court on Thursday in the Bartica ‘ s Magistrate Court to have the charges of murder and attempted murder read to him. It is alleged that on January 11, at Chinee Creek, Puruni Mining District in the Essequibo Magisterial District he murdered Elton Thompson a human being, and also in the same said location, on the same date he attempted to murder Jonas Perreira also .Ms Ohio Thompson acted as translator for the defendant who was not required to plead because of the indictable nature of the matter.
Police Lance Corporal Henry also submitted sworn submissions to the Court and contended that all statements are true and correct. Police Prosecutor Inspector Pitt then conveyed to the Defence Counsel, Vic Puran ’ s query, that to date no other further advice was had from the Director of Public Prosecutor on this matter .
The matter was then adjourned February 18.
