D’Urban Street resident found dead in room
The body being placed in the hearse and taken to Lyken Funeral Home.
Michael Singh, 48, of 33 Joseph Pollydore Street, Lodge, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in the early hours of Friday morning in his room.
Police visited the scene, took statements and the body was removed to Lyken Funeral Home.
Relatives home were tight-lipped about the circumstances surrounding the man’s demise.
Residents in the area, however, said that Michael Singh, called ‘Killer’ was suffering from tuberculosis and was a heavy drinker.
It was also noted that Singh was known to do odd jobs and was accused of larceny on many occasions. “You know how much people beat da man fo thiefin dem thing? He does always get licks, plus he does smoke too. He is a junkie.”
One man disclosed that he saw blood on Singh’s face when he peered through the windows after he learnt of his demise. “I don’t know is what really happen. The family ain’t say what happen, like they got something to hide.”
