The 2010 Guyana Football Federation Super League sponsored under FIFA’s Win in CONCACAF with CONCACAF initiative will be completed shortly following a break due to rain and the Kashif & Shanghai tournament.
Champions Alpha United will feature in both matches that remain and will face off with Sunburst Camptown next Wednesday at the Georgetown Football Association Ground from 18:00hrs.
Camptown, currently holding down the 5th position on the points table can overtake Rosignol United with a win and if they can humiliate the champs by seven (7) goals they even move into the third place.
Alpha, the only unbeaten team in the 10-team league will certainly be seeking to maintain their unblemished record.
The final game of the Two-Round League will feature Alpha against Bartica’s Liquid Gold. The date and venue is still to be announced.
Bakewell Topp XX and Liquid Gold will not be a part of the next GFF Super League since the issue of promotion and relegation will kick in this time around unlike the previous two years.
According to the GFF, the next edition of the League will be in August and they are hoping that the respective Associations will run off their domestic leagues in order to arrive at the two teams which will be replacing Topp XX and Liquid Gold.
A play off among the top clubs in the Associations will be required to fill the two slots.
