Nursery school teacher, Shaundell Warwick, who was badly beaten with a cutlass by her reputed husband, Rudolph London, is still a patient of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).
According to a source at the GPHC, Warwick’s condition is unchanged; the mother of two has not yet regained consciousness even though she has been transferred from the High Dependency Unit (HDU) of the GPHC to the ICU.
Yesterday a relative however said that Warwick was responding to questions asked of her.
It is alleged that on New Year’s Day, at Best Village, West Coast Demerara, London was armed with a cutlass and had unlawfully and maliciously wounded Warwick with the intent to murder her.
At the Vreed-en-Hoop Magistrate’s Court when the accused appeared before Magistrate Nyasha Williams-Hatmin, London’s mother explained that London suffers from a mental health breakdown and had requested to the court that he be scrutinized by a specialist.
London on that occasion blurted out, “I didn’t chop her. Is broadside I broadside her your worship.”
