GMR&SC releases events schedule for this year
The Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club have released the scheduled dates for its calendar of events for this year which starts with a Drag Meet set for February 20, at the South Dakota Circuit.
That will be followed by an Endurance Race set for the same venue on March 13, while the first circuit race Meet will be staged on April 3.
Less than one month later, Drag racing returns on May 1, while the local speedsters’ first engagement in the Caribbean Motor Racing Championship will see them travel to Dover Speedway in Jamaica to contest the first round of competition on May 23.
Local racing continues at the club’s facility on Albert Street at the go-kart track for a competition on June 5, while the second round of Drag Racing will be held on July 3 and that will be followed by the staging of Round Two of local circuit racing on July 31.
The defending Caribbean champions then travel to Barbados to contest the second round of competition in the Caribbean Series at Bushy Park on August 28, before returning to prepare for the final leg of the Series in Georgetown, Guyana on November 13.
The year ends with a Drag Meet on December 4, at the South Dakota Circuit.
