The President and Executive of the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) have expressed congratulations to Cellink Berbice on winning the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) Pepsi/Carib T20 Inter County Tournament.
In a press release the BCB said that by their performances on and off the field they have kept the proud tradition of Berbice Cricket flying high. Following is the full text of the release.
“Over the last several years, Berbice has been dominating cricket in Guyana at all levels but this victory is special to us at the Berbice Cricket Board as it was the first one achieved under the historic sponsorship by GT&T Cellink for all Berbice teams. Under the sponsorship, the Berbice Cricket Board is now able to fully prepare all of the teams properly and the aim of the Board to fully dominate all cricket at the Inter County levels. The Berbice Cricket Board has led by example with visionary leadership and unity and this has played a major role in our performance on the cricket field. A high volume of cricket played in Berbice at all levels at both the Inter County and Inter Zone levels has allowed our cricketers to be properly prepared to represent the county.”
“The Berbice Cricket Board would like to publicly acknowledge the contribution of skipper Assad Fudadin, Coach Adrian Amsterdam and Manager David Black and the senior players in guiding the team to another championship. The Cellink Berbice Team deserved the success as every player and official worked beyond the call of duty to achieve the stated goal of retaining the title. The Board would also like to dedicate this championship to the Marketing Staff of the Guyana Telephone & Telegraph Company especially Mr. Wystan Robertson, Ms. Abena Fung and Ms. Rhonda Johnson. We are grateful for the co-operation and assistance in making sure that the Cellink Berbice Team was fully prepared and we are confident that the Berbice Cricket Board and Cellink would enjoy more successes over the next year.”
“We would also like to express gratitude to Stabroek News, Kaieteur News, Guyana Chronicle and Guyana Times for the great coverage of the team’s performance. Congrats Cellink Berbice, onward to greater success for the Ancient County.”
