Action continues this weekend
The exciting matches witnessed during the competition has reached a new height and cricket fans can expect more action following the release of the fixtures for tomorrow, Sunday December 12
at various venues.
Activities get underway at 10:00hrs in the T20 match in the Males Over 35 Category at the Marshon Ground. This match will be contested in the Georgetown /East Coast zone starting at 10:00 hrs when Mac Masters ‘A’ opposes P&B XI followed by Mac Masters ‘A,’ in a second encounter against Mac Masters ‘B.’
Over in Region ten, in the Linden zone, Bad Boys XI tackles Christianburg All Stars while on the East Coast, Mahaica Wreckers play Mahaica Princesses ‘A’ starting at 11:00hrs. The action continues at 14:00hrs when Mahaicony Creek Lasses battle Mahaica Queens.
Meanwhile, the players will compete for several lucrative prizes including $100, 000 and a trophy for the winners in the over 35 category while the runners-up take home $50,000 and a trophy. The best batter of the tournament receives a trophy while the best bowler of the tournament also receives a trophy as will the Most Valuable Player. The respective zone winners will win trophies as will the Man of the match in the finals. The fielder taking the best catch in the final will also win a trophy
The winner in the female category takes home $50,000.00 and a trophy, twenty thousand more than the runners up, who also win a trophy. The best batter of the tournament will be presented with a trophy as the best bowler of the tournament. The MVP in the female category wins a trophy while zone winners will also carry home trophies.
The woman of the final will win a trophy) as will the player that takes the most magnificent catch in the final.
The tournament is organised by the Guyana Softball League in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport.
