Ex-cop, reputed wife remanded for harbouring ‘terror’ gunmen
Two more members of the Amelia’s Ward, Linden, family that claimed that they had mistakenly harboured some of the ‘terror’ gang have been charged and remanded to prison.
Roy Rollins, a 60-year-old former policeman, and his reputed wife, Maxine Holder, appeared in the Christianburg Magistrates Court yesterday and were charged with harbouring fugitive gunman Colin Jones.
Last week, Deion Thompson, another member of the same Linden family, was charged and remanded for the same offence, along with a woman who had allegedly cooked for the gang.
Family members had claimed that they had unknowingly harboured Colin Jones and Adriano Tracey. One family member had reportedly collected money from the now dead gunman, Kurt Theirens, to buy an outboard engine.
The family insists that none knew who the men were. According to some relatives, Jones was known to them as ‘Jamal’, Tracey as ‘Reds’ and Thierens as ‘Bigga’.
