Shawn Fletchman, 38, of 1338 Cummings Park ‘B’ Field Sophia, Georgetown, was remanded by (ag) Chief Magistrate Priya Beharry after he pleaded not guilty to the offence of possession of narcotic for the purpose of trafficking.
According to police prosecutor, Stephen Telford, on the day in question, at Rosemary Lane, Tiger Bay, Georgetown, patrolling ranks stopped the accused who was acting in a suspicious manner.
A search was conducted on his person and substance suspected to be cocaine was found in his pants pocket.
He was however arrested, caution and taken to the station.
The substance was later tested and it was found to be 41 grams of the illegal drugs cocaine; he was subsequently charged and placed before the court.
In court yesterday he was unrepresented and was refused bail by the Magistrate
The defendant will make his second court appearance on December 1.
