Pensioners who turned up at the Danielstown Post Office on Friday were denied their Government stipulated earnings. They were told by the Postmaster in charged that the office was broken into.
The Postmaster could not ascertain how much money was missing but he was able to point to the combination safe, which was damaged.
He appeared to be in a state of shock. He told detectives that when he entered his office Friday morning, he noticed that someone had forced theirself into the building. Both the southern window and the western door had been pried open.
Meanwhile, Wasunol Hack, 45, a popular rice farmer of 28 East La Resource, Essequibo Coast, is counting his losses that totaled thousands of dollars and a computer.
