Dear Editor,
To my disgust, I’ve read about the torture victims (the kid from #2 canal accepting settlements etc. Irrespective of this, the authorities must carry out the Law, The Law must prevail.
People must not believe that they can appease a violated citizen of Guyana and the Law of Guyana with the payment of a few dollars. This attitude must be stamped out. This matter must not be laid to rest, for it will be repeated again. The authorities must hunt the victims down and bring them before the court.
The UNICEF is watching on to see how this case will be handled. It is very shameful how people can be so naïve to allow their lives to be marred in this manner and choose to do nothing about it.
The officers must face the penalty for their sick aggression that it may not re-occur. The court must do justice for the people of Guyana, not only considering the persons involved. I am a woman and I need justice in this case. Grace Amor
