Keen rivalry anticipated as UG stages its Inter-Faculty Athletics
The Guyana Police Force Sports Club Ground will once again be transformed into a hive of activity when the University of Guyana stages its Annual Inter-Faculty Athletics Championship on Friday October 22.
Eight faculties will be competing for the championship trophy currently held by defending champions, Faculties of Social Sciences. UG sports officials have described the championships as a keenly competitive affair. The action gets underway at 10:00hrs with the march past of the teams.
The competing teams are: Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry, Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Technology, School of Earth and Environmental Sciences, School of Education and Humanities and the University of Guyana, Tain Berbice Campus.
Meanwhile, in related news coming out of the University of Guyana, the male and female Inter-Faculty Table Tennis champions Dwayne Dick and Natalie Cummings have recently left Guyana to participate in the 13th Central American and Caribbean University games that got underway in Santo Domingo from Monday October 4th last until Sunday 10th next.
Dick is a student of the Faculty of Natural Sciences while Cummings is a student of the Faculty of Social Sciences.
