The heat encountered on the Guyana Fire Service home turf was too hot for the Guyana Police Force and the Guyana Prison Service to handle on Friday evening last when the Ministry of Home Affairs Inter Agency dominos competition continued at the Fire Service Sports Club.
Victory was sweet for the home team as they chalked up a total of 77 games relegating the Guyana Prison service to the number two spot with 69 games with the Guyana Police Force bringing up the rear on 65 games.
The first leg of the competition was taken by the Prison Service at the Police Sports Club Eve Leary while the Police were in ripping form as they upstaged hosts Prisons to capture leg two. Members of the Fire Service said they were always going to be tough to beat at home and they made good on that promise by lifting the first place trophy donated by sponsors, pay Less Get More Store of Regent Street, Georgetown.
Leading Fire Service to victory was the Most Valuable Player of the leg Curtis Liverpool who marked the maximum 18 games. For Prisons, Nickellete Elliott led with 16 while for Police their leading player was Roxanne Sandy with 15 games.
Organiser Ovid Glasgow said that he was very pleased with the level of competition and camaraderie displayed thought the competitions to date. Police will host the next round of competition set for Friday October 5.
