A security guard attached to a popular Brazilian bar is nursing gunshot wounds he sustained after he prevented some known characters from entering without paying the admission fee.
Marlon Shepherd, 29, was shot in the left arm and left knee when one of the men opened fire with a 9mm caliber weapon. Up to late last night the suspects had not been detained.
Police in a statement yesterday said that they are investigating a shooting incident which occurred at a popular night spot on Robb Street, Bourda, during which security guard Marlon Shepherd sustained gunshot injuries to his left arm and knee.
According to the police, the suspect who is known to the police and several others, were attempting to force their way into the premises when they were confronted by the guard.
A scuffle ensued, resulting in the suspect discharging rounds at the guard.
The suspect and his accomplices then entered a motor car and fled.
Police visited the scene and recovered 10 spent 9mm casings.
Shepherd is in a stable condition at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation.
