Dear Editor
Almost all presidents and prime ministers around the world are inspirational personalities and role models for young men and women.
Young boys in the USA would watch Barack Obama on TV and tell their parents, “Daddy when I grow up I would like to be like Barack Obama.”
Does the President of Guyana fit in that category?
Recently we have seen the President of Guyana during his press conferences banning a journalist from entering the Office of the President and the State House; calling a citizen a convicted book thief, a man kisser, a sleaze ball journalist; accusing a leading entrepreneur of stealing government shares which is unproven; criticising a leading international hotel in Guyana with unfounded accusations; allowing the DPP and police to have runaway powers to charge anyone without proper investigations and suing a citizen who does not have the same right to sue the President etc.
Which boy or girl watching President Jagdeo with his antics on TV with their parents can say, “Daddy when I grow up I want to be like President Jagdeo?”
