The two persons accused of the Good Intent wedding house “beating” have been remanded to prisons.
According to Commander of ‘D’ Division, Balram Persaud, on Friday last two men were passed through the court and remanded.
He also noted that the two who were charged were also injured during what he said was a brawl and not an attack on one person as was reported by one family.
On Friday last, the relatives of one Gurudeo John related to this newspaper that he was severely beaten and has left somewhat crippled at a wedding house.
The relatives said that it was a case of mistaken identity since John was merely attending the wedding with friends.
However, police in the West Demerara region said that the incident was really a fight during which several other persons were injured.
John happened to be the unfortunate one who suffered the most severe injury.
On July 4, last, John was attending a wedding at Good Intent, West Bank Demerara when an argument with his friends and another group of men escalated into a brawl.
John and several other persons were injured. Two of the injured have since been charged while John remains a patient of the Georgetown Public Hospital’s High Dependency Unit.
