Sanctions against Iran
Dear Editor,
When the USA and the EU were working to get the UN to impose sanctions against Iran, I was unsure of how Russians would vote due to their newfound friendship with the West and their ‘hold me, loose me’ behaviour.
I was, however, 100% certain China would have voted against the sanctions. I felt that was because China itself was bullied by US other Western countries (not Canada) and kept out of the United Nations for decades, and as such the Chinese would not support sanctions designed to cripple Iran and make Iran vulnerable to an Israeli attack.
You can therefore imagine my shock when I learnt that the Chinese also suck up to America. I do hope the sanctions will not prevent the Iranians from continuing with their mission here to map our mineral resources.
