Dear Editor,
Forty four years after the Colonial British turned over the reign of power, Guyanese are yet to see the utopia that was promised to them by the PPP.
Instead, under the regime’s rule, ethnic cohesion has become nothing but a mirage.
Subjected to 17 years of rule and a daily dose of demagoguery, never in the nation’s existence, have Guyanese witnessed such subversion of rights.
Sadly, with each passing day, they are being entombed in a society that has the opposite characteristics of a democratic state.
With the continuous erosion of human and civil rights one has only to conclude that a utopic society was nothing more than a broken promise by the PPP regime. Bismattie Ramsawak
