Cuyuni miner murdered, residents apprehend suspect
Residents of Cuyuni apprehended a 27-year-old man on Sunday night shortly after he allegedly killed a miner at Ikawan, Cuyuni.
Police sources said that the victim, identified as 40-year-old Dalton Prince, was slain during an argument with another miner.
However, the officials were unable to say how Prince was slain.
Both men worked at a mining establishment that is owned by a Brazilian miner.
Kaieteur News was told that eyewitnesses to the murder apprehended and tied up the suspect before handing him over to the police.
A team of police ranks has been dispatched to the area.
