Dear Editor,
I take this opportunity to respond to a letter carried in your newspaper on May 13th 2010 by one S. Holder.
I wish to categorically state that allegations by the writer regarding my service in the Guyana Defence Force are completely false.
This attack on my character is filled with inaccuracies and deliberate mistruths, clearly evident in what the writer resorts to in a feeble attempt at justifying his/her allegations.
For the record, no one by that name is employed in the Security Department of GuySuCo and in the case that said individual is hiding behind a pen name; it is clearly evident that this person is a disgruntled worker who would spare no expense in attempting to denigrate me to cause disunity in my Department.
The interest of our workers is always paramount and it is out of an appreciation of the important role they play, that one should never be complacent.
Regarding my role as Manager of the Security Department, I wish to remind this individual of two things – firstly, I am open to any form of scrutiny from within as well as outside of GuySuCo and secondly; that in every work environment there are strict rules and regulations which have to be adhered to, especially in the field of security.
If the intention of the letter writer is to make me compromise my mandate, then I am afraid that he/she is mistaken. Dindyal William
