Mahaica Pastor further remanded
Pastor Shawn Maison was further remanded to prison yesterday, this time by Magistrate Haymant Ramdhani at the Mahaica Magistrate’s Court.
This was the second time Maison had appeared before a Magistrate.
He has been charged with carnally knowing a girl under the age of consent.
He went into hiding for a month, shortly after the report was made.
Last week Maison had appeared before a city Magistrate a day after he turned himself in at the Criminal Investigations Department Headquarters, Eve Leary, in the company of Bishop Juan Edghill.
The girl who is now 17 years old had made the allegation last month following a row with the Pastor.
She had also disclosed that the man had been sexually molesting her since she was 13.
The Pastor had denied the allegations, telling this newspaper that it was an aunt of the girl who had put her up to make the allegations.
Kaieteur News understands that yesterday the case docket was unavailable in court, prompting the Magistrate to put off the matter until tomorrow.
