Guyana will host the eight edition of the Intra-Regional Central Bank Games from today, and in the same vein seek to capitalise on its first home court advantage in winning a title that it has never won in the multi-discipline competition.
A release from the Central Bank of Guyana yesterday stated that the Bank plans to make the event “one with a difference” since they have never hosted. The bi-annual Games that span three venues and nine disciplines will be riveting. The disciplines include cricket, volleyball, basketball, football, netball, darts, dominoes, table tennis and chess. The disciplines will be played at the National Stadium, National Park and the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall from today.
Participating Central Banks are defending champions, Bank of Jamaica, Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago, The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, Central Bank of Barbados, Central Bank of Belize and the Central Bank of Bahamas.
