Dear Editor,
I refer to an article of March 22, written by Mr. Freddie Kissoon captioned, “Legacies of power-drunkenness, sexual insanity and unprecedented corruption”, and wish to make the following observations:
To protect the integrity of the Kaieteur News, I strongly suggest that Mr. Kissoon’s daily column have a disclaimer that reads: The views express by this writer is his own, and does not necessarily reflect the views of the editor or management this publication.
It is a thousand pities that a man who professes to be as educated as he, takes up valuable space to perpetrate daily attacks against the present administration without offering any constructive solution.
I have no doubt that while some of his concerns and arguments may be justified, he comes across as very bias and angry, with a personal agenda to single-handedly bring down the PPP/C.
As such, he defeats the very purpose for which he writes, for he is viewed by many as an antagonist whose articles lack credibility. Mr. Kissoon should tone down his rhetoric, and offer some real solutions to the many problems facing the nation; maybe then, your readers may take him a little more seriously.
I was privileged to have personally known both Dr. Cheddi Jagan and Forbes Burnham when I lived in Guyana. Both were honorable men and the founding fathers of our nation who did what they thought best at the time for our country.
In retrospect, they both could have done things differently, but these public servants, who dedicated their entire lives to the service of their country, deserve the respect, and a prominent place in the history of Guyana; and does not deserve to have their names besmirched by the likes of Freddie Kissoon.
