Two men, Phillip Bobb and Roy Callendar, yesterday appeared in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court after being charged with simple larceny. The duo appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson.
It is alleged that between March 6 and March 12, last, they stole $150,000 worth of steel pipes property of Winston Thomas. They both pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The police prosecutor, Stephen Telford, informed the court that some of the items were recovered and have since been returned to the virtual complainant.
He asked that bail be granted at a substantial amount.
He then indicated to the court that the second accused, Callendar, has not yet verified his address and as such Telford asked that he be remanded.
Bobb was placed on $70,000 bail while his co-accused was remanded.
The matter will be called again on April 27.
