Dear Editor,
For a number of years there have been, naturally mixed reviews, opinions and commentaries of Frederick Kissoon, Columnist, Journalist, Opinion Maker, Political Scientist, Commentator, Analyst, Politician, Lecturer, Nationalist and arch democrat I may add.
I also suspect that he has angered the officialdom, cross sections of the population, and various strata of the society and at times he has brought vexation to my spirit, a high degree of pessimism but with the burning desire to engage, understand and foster an evolving democratic culture one also welcomes Kissoon’s daily views.
His latest article “Juxtaposition of Modernisation & Primitiveness” however, reminds me of a quote of a 19th century German Philosopher, Arthur Scopenhauer found in the New York subway trains, “Every man takes the limits of his own field of vision for the limits of the world”.
In fact, this quote is also carried in the Editorial, “Limits of Perception” in the March issue of Scientific American. I believe I now understand Mr. Kissoon better than before and eagerly look forward reading more from him. Aditya (Deo) Sookdeo
