Kennard Memorial meet set for today
All is set for the Kennard Memorial Turf Club grand one day horserace meet which is on today at the club’s track at Bush Lot Farm Corentyne, Berbice. The event was postponed from from last Sunday.
Six races are carded for the day with the feature event being for horses classified E and lower while there are also races for horses classified G and lower, I and lower, K and L and lower while there are also two races for non winners and lower class horses.
The feature E class event which has a top prize of $220,000 will see the likes of Sea Rocket, World Class Sir Balajee, Laura lee in Flight being challenge by Mracus Star, Sweet Revenge, 18 Karat and Debatable for top honours.
Alphabet, Face the Music and Top of the Line headlines those entered for the G class match up for the winner’s money of $180,000. Also entered is Zip a De Do Dah, Gabrielle Gold, Gigli, Pegasus Rising, and Lady of My Dreams among others.
The I class race will see the winner taking home $130,000 with the likes of the inform Casino Royal, leading the entries and it will be hard pressed by Clear Victory, Stormy Water, Funny Sided, Fantastic Light, Star Streak, Lightening Mc Queen, Tec a Taste, Tiny 21, Over the Mat and Miss Bounty
The ‘I’ and J class race will see the winner receiving $130,000 with the distance being six furlongs.
The K and L event is another six furlongs race and the winner will take home $100,000 and among those entered are President Junior, Sporting Time, Beyonce, Another Run, and Lenny O Halo.
While the winner in the ‘I’3 race for horse that have not won more than one event will see winner taking home $130,000 same as the ‘I’ and lower three years non winners race Over six furlongs.
Race time is 13:00 hrs.
According to reports from the organisers the track is in excellent condition.
Turfites are also being warned to desist from entering the track; anyone found to be in contravention of the rules will be severely punished.
