More money for Haiti disaster
Ms Valerie Adams-Sharpe hands over the cheque to Ramona Vansluytman
Members of the Haiti Disaster Relief Committee of Linden on Thursday handed over a cheque for G$407,180 to President of Rotary Club 7 of Demerara, Ramona Vansluytman. The presentation took place in the lobby of the Linden Enterprise Network (formerly LEAP) on Republic Avenue.
The money was handed over by Ms Valerie Adams-Sharpe on behalf of the people of Linden who contributed to the worthy cause.
Vansluytman thanked the committee for its initiative.
Among those contributing to the fund were the Philadelphia Gospel Hall of Coomacka, Nasir & Nisir Company LTD, Linden Utility Coop Society Ltd, The Upper room Full Gospel, Dutchie’s Ferry Service Operatives, Linden Textile Arts, Praise Tabernacle Assembly of God and Linden Electricity Company Incorporated.
Several individuals also donated money to the fund that also attracted the proceeds from a walk-a-ton, a football match and concert.
