The Guyana Cycling Federation has extended congratulations to Gerron Williams on
his selection as “Junior Sportsman of The Year”.
In a release form federation PRO Julian Alves, it states, “It is an honour richly
deserved as Geron Williams rode brilliantly and majestically during the year 2009, highlighted by his marvellous and exhilarating victory in the International 5-stage road race last November.”
“Also Geron is the first cyclist to have copped this award in decades, the last being the highly touted and internationally acclaimed Neville Hunte.
We hope Geron continues his brilliant performances in 2010 and achieve even greater success which he can certainly do with hard work, dedication and proper training as he has the ability and talent.”
“This noteworthy achievement highlights the fact that Geron Williams is not only one of the top young cyclists in Guyana but also the region; Kudos to Geron.”
