Guyanese Author, Dr. Brenda Do Harris, will launch her second novel “Calabash Parkway” at the Sidewalk Cafe – today at 18.00 hrs.
The programme will include a reading of extracts from the novel by Dr. Do Harris and a book signing.
Calabash Parkway is set mainly in the 1980s in Brooklyn, New York and explores the lives of Gatha, Evadne, Gwennie and Drupattie, Guyanese women who migrate to North America, finding love and tragedy.
Dr. Brenda Bo Harris was born in Guyana. She is a professor of English at Bowie State University and a graduate of Columbia University where she received a PhD in English. She is also the author of “The Coloured Girl in the Ring”.
