Father charged with robbery
Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton yesterday remanded a father of two.
Lorenzo Sims, 21, of 22 Poudroyen West Bank Demerara, is charged with robbery under arms.
It is alleged that on December 23, at La Penitence, Sims while being armed with a knife robbed Judy Bhagwandeen of $42,000, one cell phone and a black shoulder bag.
Sims who was represented by attorney at law Sasha Roberts was not required plead to the indictable charge.
Roberts in a bail application for her client stated that he is a father of two and that he was no flight risk. Magistrate Octive-Hamilton however remanded the accused and he is expected to return on January 12, 2010.
