A 33 year old man is now a patient at the Georgetown hospital after he was shot in a failed robbery attempt last night. According to an eyewitness, Quincy Mc Donald, called ‘Bat’ of Bent Street was shot once in the abdomen by a gunman that was in the company of two others on bicycles. According to the eyewitness the men had intended to rob two relatives of his fiancée, who were sitting in a parked car in front of the Princess Street residence. Reports indicated that McDonald’s presence foiled the robbery and this apparently angered the would be bandits who discharged a round in the man’s direction hitting him in the abdomen, the men quickly fled the scene.
At the hospital the man was rushed to theatre for emergency surgery to remove the bullet from his abdomen. Up to press time no one was arrested.
