Man stabbed during verbal dispute
Bhopaul Singh, 49, of De Hoop, Mahaica, East Coast Demerara, was admitted to the Georgetown Public Hospital on Sunday with a stab wound he received at a shop.
According to his son, Indar, “My father was at a shop drinking and went to the bar to purchase something and someone known to him as Baal, told him something about his daughter- in- law.
“He disagreed and the man pulled a knife and stabbed him.”
He later said that the man packed his clothes and left the village and has gone into hiding from the police, something that has been confirmed by the Mahaica Police Station.
