Another thief nabbed at Stabroek Market
A man is currently in police custody after he tried to escape from a police patrol moments after snatching a man’s gold band.
Reports are that some time around 9:40 hours yesterday the man snatched another man’s gold band and began running, not realising that a police mobile patrol was just behind him.
The man began running towards Public Buildings with the police and other public spirited citizens hot on his trail.
He fell in his haste to go even faster, was caught and taken into police custody.
The victim subsequently arrived where the suspect was caught. A search was carried out on the suspect and the police found the gold band in the man’s pocket.
The victim identified the gold band as his. The ‘thief’ was arrested and taken to the Brickdam Police Station.
