A squabble over a jersey ended in tragedy yesterday evening with a 13-year-old boy killing a 15-year-old villager at Cottage, Mahaicony.
The victim, identified as Eon Benjamin, of Cottage, Mahaicony, collapsed and died at around 18:00 hrs shortly after being stabbed with a knife.
According to reports, the two boys and a third villager had fought earlier in the day over a jersey.
The fight continued at around 18:00 hrs in a street, during which the 13-year-old allegedly stabbed Benjamin.
The wounded lad was rushed to the Mahaicony Hospital where he succumbed.
The suspect was detained shortly after.
At press time police were preparing to bring the victim’s body to the city.
