Five games scheduled for opening night
Five games are scheduled to be played next Monday evening in the Guyana Hockey Board-organised GT&T National Indoor Tournament which will be staged, at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
The tournament to be played under FIH rules is divided into four categories with the Men’s First and Second Divisions, Ladies and Under-19’s all slated to participate in the competition which runs until October 25.
Opening night action commences with an U-19 game between Western Dragons and Hikers and that will be followed by a Ladies clash featuring GCC Flora Tigers versus GCC Spartans then a Second Division match involving W/Dragons and Degenerates.
Two First Division matches are scheduled with GCC’B’ taking on Hikers ‘A’ and to conclude the evening, Old Fort ‘A’ engage GCC ‘A’.
All games will be of 40 minutes duration and bully-off time is 18:00 hrs.
The Groups are as follows (Ladies) – Hikers, GCC Flora Tigers and GCC Spartans; (U-19) – Hikers, GCC, Old Fort and Western Dragons; (Men’s Second Division) – Western Dragons, Degenerates, Old Fort ‘B’ and Hikers ‘B’ and (Men’s First Division) – Hikers ‘A’, Old Fort ‘A’, GCC ‘A’ and ‘B’ units.
