Dear Editor,
It is a lot of nonsense that Freddie Kissoon spouts in his columns, but it takes a lot to equal the following, “Mr. Jagdeo cannot be that myopic not to know that there are bags full of confidential information on his Government lying somewhere in the offices of the Kaieteur News, Prime News, SN, and Capitol News.
People pass on information to the media on this despised regime all the time,” in his column of Tuesday, September 22, 2009.
First of all, this so-called despised regime keeps on winning national elections, and is expected to do so again in 2011.
Secondly, the above and other news agencies use up all the ‘information’ it may have, each and every day, and have nothing else left to use, absolutely nothing.
There is no use for bags. They publish what they want, when they want.
There weren’t all these news agencies around when the PNC demitted office in 1992, but if they were, they would have had “bags full of confidential information”, because they would not have been able to use it, or much of it, during that dictatorial, undemocratic and repressive regime. Freddie Kissoon would not have been able to write his daily column as he is able to do now.
When the PNC demitted office in 1992, they had all the bags of confidential and incriminating information, and there were bonfires at all government ministries and agencies.
When this received public comment, the bonfires were taken to the cemetery.
