A man who was intercepted on Sunday last at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport Timehri is expected in court later today, charged for possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
Reports are that a 30 year-old man was checking-in to board a Caribbean Airlines flight, which was destined for JFK International Airport.
After ranks from the Police Narcotics Unit noticed the man acting in a suspicious manner they decided to search his suitcase.
During the search, the ranks found three kilograms of cocaine concealed in plastic. The man, who is said to be Guyanese was taken into police custody and is expected to appear in court some time later today.
