The Guyana Rugby Football Union held trials for the Men’s and Women’s teams yesterday at the National Park.
Among the players who impressed at the trials were West Indies Captains Claudius Butts and Sabola Gray, while Ryan George, Desaun Josiah and Walter George also had outstanding performances.
The trials are to select the final Men’s and Women’s squads that will participate in the North American & Caribbean Rugby Association (NACRA) Sevens Championships in Mexico from November 14-15.
Eleven countries along with Mexico will compete at the Championships where the winners of the respective categories receive qualification to represent NACRA, along with Canada, at the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
