The Karibee Boys of Number 36 Village, Corentyne did not disappoint their many supporters that came with them when they defeated the Floodlights XI and took away the Nand Persaud Memorial Trophy last Saturday night at the GCC Ground Bourda.

All players and supporters for the Karibee Boys were well attired in orange shirt and red pants with green stripe.
They had a lot to cheer for when their team batted first and made 208 for 8 in their allotted 25 overs. Doonauth Mohan top scored with 49 and he was well supported by Pooran Shivdyal 31, Amarnauth Thakordeen 31, Tyrone Sanasi 30 and Mark Foo 19 as they were aided by sloppy fielding and many drop catches by the Floodlights XI.
Mike Singh was at his usual best with 3 wickets for 16 runs off 5 overs, and the other notable bowlers for Floodlights XI, Ramchand Ragbeer and Dharam Persaud took 2 wickets each.
When Floodlights XI batted they were in trouble when the in form Derick Ramoutar went for a first ball of the innings duck and out of form Ricky Deonarain failing with 14 runs. They eventually reached 147 all out with Mark Harold 23 and Surendra Nauth 19 being the only notable scores.
The Karibee Boys were at their best with both fielding and bowling which made Floodlights XI task for victory more difficult. Man-of-the-match Parmeshwar Ramdeo grabbed 6 wickets for 20 runs off 5 overs bowling for the Karibee Boys.
The Nand Persaud Memorial Trophy was sponsored by his own company Nand Persaud & Co. Ltd. Medals and trophies were given to all players from the victorious team, compliments of Trophy Stall of Bourda Market and City Mall.
