…on joint charge for conspiracy to obstruct justice

NUMBER FIFTY-ONE VILLAGE, CORENTYNE – Attorney-at-Law Murseline Bacchus was on the other side of the bench yesterday when he appeared before Magistrate Krishendat Persaud at the Number 51 Village, Corentyne Magistrate’s Court
Mr. Bacchus and Chandralakha Ramdass were jointly charged with conspiracy to obstruct the course of justice.
The defendants appeared at the Number Fifty-one Magistrate’s Court. Both defendants pleaded not guilty and were each placed on $100,000 bail.
Attorney-at-Law Adrian Anamayah appeared for 59-year-old fish monger Chandralakha Ramdass of Hampshire Village while Senior Counsel Marcel C. Crawford and his Associates Vic Puran and Drednauth Perry Gossai represented Attorney-at-Law Murseline Bacchus. The Prosecutor was Sergeant Grant.
The matter was transferred to the New Amsterdam Magistrates’ Court. The next hearing is on August 24.
