Jamal Aaron, 19, yesterday appeared before Magistrate Priya Beharry, on the charge of break and entry.
It is alleged that on the night of May 29, the accused broke into the home of Hensley Allen, and stole a television, 1 cell phone and $6,000 cash.
The Police Prosecutor told the court that Allen was awakened during the night by noises in his home. Upon investigating, he saw the defendant jumping through a window on the eastern side of his home.
After alerting the authorities, Allen took up chase. Aaron was eventually caught by the police
However, none of the articles were recovered.
This was not the first time the defendant has been accused of this offence, and he is no stranger to the courts.
Magistrate Priya Beharry remanded Aaron to prison, and ordered him to return to court on September 4.
