Chinese national attempts to bribe embassy official
Yuetian Cao faced Magistrate Priya Beharry yesterday, accused of attempting to commit a corrupt transaction at the US Embassy.
It is alleged that on July 13, the accused during an interview with a US Counselor Officer attempted to bride an officer with US$10,000.
The attempted bribe was aimed at Yuetian gaining a Non-immigrant US visa.
The matter was reported and the accused was subsequently taken into custody.
Yuetian pleaded not guilty and was remanded until August 11, when she is to make her next appearance in court.
