Dear Editor,
It is evident someone is lying! Four people so far have testified under oath that Minister, Dr. Leslie Ramsammy was involved in the procurement of the infamous Spy Equipment and the Commissioner of Police claims he has the spy equipment which the US authorities have produced in court.
I want to remind both Dr. Ramsammy and the Commissioner that it is in a court of law where the truth almost always comes out.
Dr. Ramsammy says he was never involved in the purchase of the equipment and never met the people who claim they met him. Minister Rohee is playing it safe by saying “No Comment”
Perjury is a serious offence that carries jail time; people who lie under oath can land themselves in jail for five years or more.
So who are we to believe, Ramsammy, the Commissioner, the Government or those who have testified under oath?
Sometime ago President Jagdeo recommended that members of CANU who failed a lie detector test should be dismissed. By the same token if one is said to practice what they preach then Ramsammy, the Commissioner and even Jagdeo himself should all take a lie detector test and clear up this matter once and for all.
