Meusa wins DDL Topco Juice Emancipation Chess tourney
Wendell Meusa’s sterling performances continue as he made it four in a row when captured the DDL Topco Juice Emancipation Chess tournament, which was held over the weekend at Keishar’s Sport Club.

Meusa played undefeated with one draw coming against Shiv Nandalall. In the Meusa-Nandalall encounter, Nandalall clearly had the edge as he was up two pieces, but was unable to convert a win due to time pressure and had to settle for a draw.
Taffin Khan rebound after suffering a first round loss to Irshad Mohamed to take the second position, with his only other loss coming against Meusa. Third place went to veteran player Errol Tiwari, fourth Irshad Mohamed, while Brian Thompson took the fifth position.
In the junior category, Sham Khan played undefeated to capture the top position. His only resistance came from Khalid Gajraj and had to settle for a draw.
Saeed Ali took the second position, third went to newcomer Raan Motilall, fourth Mahendra Sahadeo while fifth went to Crystal Khan.

The final points standing, Sham Khan seven and a half, Saeed Ali six, Raan Motilall five and a half, Mahendra Sahadeo, Crystal Khan and Aslam Hussain five apiece, Khalid Gajraj four and a half, Sheriffa Ali, Rajendra Jettoo, Kana Khan, Trevor Sooklall and Ron Motilall four apiece, Rashad Hussain three and a half, Andre Maniram and Mickel Mohabir three, Rhys Duff two points and Clive Bender one point.
