A staff member at the Benschop Foundation presents a token to outgoing Canadian High Commissioner Charles Court during his visit yesterday.
Outgoing Canadian High Commissioner, Charles Court, yesterday paid a courtesy call on the Benschop Foundation as part of his final assignments before leaving Guyana.
Court, who was described as a close friend of the Foundation headed by social activist and former talk show host Mark Benschop, met with students and interacted with staff who later presented him with a book and a ‘thank you’ card.
Benschop expressed appreciation for the kind words the envoy gave during his visit.
According to Benschop, he and the High Commissioner held private discussions on the work of the Foundation and other issues.
He said that High Commissioner Court expressed his desire to continue working with the Benschop Foundation and will certainly encourage the continuation of the relationship with the incoming High Commissioner.
The Benschop Foundation was established last year and assists with the development of young people through computer and other life skills courses.
It also does charitable work, benefiting the less fortunate in society.
