Cannabis accused granted bail
Keith Bovell
Keith Bovell, 32, of 28 ‘Block ‘E’, Sophia, was yesterday sent away on $25,000 bail when he appeared before Magistrate, Hazel Octive-Hamilton to answer charges of being in possession of seven grams of cannabis.
It is alleged that Bovell was found with the substance on his person in Guyhoc, North East la Penitence, on July 10, last. He was subsequently arrested and charged by the police.
The magistrate seemed aghast that the prosecution objected to bail, since they argued that the man would not attend his trial.
Bail was permitted and the accused will return to court for trial on November 13.
